Introduction to Software Activation

ETBX must be activated prior to first use. Software activation is a quick, anonymous process that assures Engrasp customers that they have a genuine copy of the software and helps protect Engrasp against illegal distribution of its products.

An internet connection is required to activate ETBX. If you do not have an internet connection, please contact Engrasp Customer Support.

When you first run ETBX, the product activation window shown in Figure 1 is displayed on the screen. The activation process consists of a series of simple steps and takes only a few minutes to complete. During activation, a small license file is downloaded from the Engrasp web server and stored on your computer. You can choose to let the activation wizard download and save the license file to your computer automatically (Automatic Activation), or you can download and save the license file manually using your web browser (Manual Activation). In either case an internet connection is required to activate ETBX. A brief description of each option is provided below.

Automatic Activation

Click the Automatic Activation button to allow the activation wizard to automatically download a license from the Engrasp web server to your computer. You will be prompted to enter your Engrasp customer account name and password, and the 24-digit alphanumeric product serial number. The serial number was provided to you after your purchase, either electronically via email or in a paper receipt. If you received the serial number by email, it is recommended that you copy and paste it into the activation form to avoid typing errors.

Click the Next button to activate the software. No personal data will be collected or transmitted during activation.

Automatic activation is the preferred method of activation for most users. However it requires that you know your proxy server host name and port if your computer is connected to the internet through a firewall. The Manual Activation option described in the next section is provided for users that do not know their firewall proxy server information, or prefer to download and save the license file themselves using a web browser.

Manual Activation

Click the Manual Activation button to download a license file using a web browser. The manual activation window is shown in Figure 3.

The first step in the manual activation procedure is to enter your 24-digit alphanumeric product serial number. The product serial number was provided to you after your purchase, either electronically via email or in a paper receipt. If you received the serial number by email, it is recommended that you copy and paste it into the activation form to avoid typing errors.

Next, click the Connect button to open a browser window and connect to the Engrasp Online Activation web site. You must provide your Engrasp account ID and password to access the web site. After a successful login, you will be permitted to download the software license. You may save the license file to any convenient location on your computer or network.

After saving the license file, you must specify the location of the file in the activation form. Click on the Browse button to select the file. The folder and file name will be automatically entered in the input field. Then click the Next button to activate.
