ETBX Plots

Plot Components

ETBX plots contain components such as axes, titles, gridlines, data series, and legends. Each plot component can be edited by opening the properties dialog associated with the component. To open a component's properties dialog box, either double-click the component, or right-click to open the component's context menu and choose the Format... menu item.

The Chart Options dialog box provides options for displaying titles and legends, and for defining the position of the plot in the plot panel. To open the dialog box using the menubar, choose the Plot -> Chart Options menu item. To open the dialog box using the context menu, right-click anywhere in the plot area and choose the Chart Options menu item.

The Chart Options dialog box has 3 tabs: the Titles tab, the Plots tab, and the Legend tab. These tabs are described in more detail in the following sections.

Click the OK button to accept your changes. If the Format box next to the Apply To All Plots label is selected, the new display properties (e.g., legend position) are applied to all plots in the plot panel.

Titles Tab

Use the Titles tab to enter and edit plot titles.

Plots Tab

Use the Plots tab to specify the layout and position of the plots in the plot panel.

To change the position of a plot in a layout, select the plot from the Plot Order list and click the Move Up or Move Down button.

The controls in the Layout input group let you change how the plots are arranged in the plot panel. Choose Stacked to arrange the plots from top to bottom in a single column. Choose Tiled to arrange the plots in a grid. The Maximum Rows input sets the maximum number of rows in the grid. Plots are added to the first column of the grid until the number of plots in the column equals to the Maximum Rows input. Then a new column is added to the layout and plots are added to that column until Maximum Rows is reached.

There is no limit to the number of rows and columns in the plot layout.

Legend Tab

Use the Legend tab to specify whether a legend should be displayed and where it should be located.
